Chiropractic Care for TMJ
An upper cervical misalignment and TMJ dysfunction are closely connected, so we check the top of the neck as part of any TMJ evaluation.

Trauma to the top of the neck can irritate the trigeminal nerve, one of the most complex nerves in the body. It feeds sensation to the jaw, face, sinuses, palate, eyes, teeth, and lips.
When that nerve is irritated, the jaw joint itself can start to malfunction. The disc in the joint can get pinched while opening or closing the jaw, and the neck and shoulder muscles can spasm during ordinary things like eating, talking, or smiling.
If you are dealing with TMJ symptoms, getting checked for an upper cervical misalignment is a reasonable early step.
Common symptoms
- Jaw pain, clicking, or clenching
- Pain while chewing or talking
- Neck or shoulder tension alongside jaw pain
- Difficulty opening or closing the jaw fully
Nerve-level focus
Care looks at the trigeminal nerve pathway, not only the jaw joint itself.
Gentle, specific care
No twisting or forceful adjustments, just precise corrections.
Full exam first
A consultation and evaluation before any care plan is built.
