Chiropractic Care for Anxiety and Depression
We look at the signs and sources of anxiety and depression rather than only the symptoms, using upper cervical chiropractic care to ease tension and stress.

Occasional anxiety is a normal response to stress. It becomes a problem when the feelings linger well after the stressful moment has passed. Left uncorrected, stress can build into ongoing health problems.
Physical, emotional, and nutritional stress can tense the muscles around the spine and pull it out of alignment. When the body stays in that stressed state, it has a harder time resting and healing. Bringing the spine back into proper alignment gives the mind and body a better chance to respond to stress normally.
We use a structured approach: a consultation and initial exam to understand your health history and goals, a customized plan of care, and a treatment plan you review before care begins.
Stress is not only felt emotionally. It is held physically, most often as tension through the neck and back, and that tension can contribute to a misalignment that outlasts the stressful period itself.
Care here is supportive and works alongside whatever else you have in place. We are addressing nervous system function, not replacing mental health treatment, and we will say plainly if we do not think we are the right fit.

Anxiety
Anxiety, or feeling anxious, is a normal temporary response to stress. However, it becomes a problem when the feelings and effects of anxiety linger long after the threat has left.
If left uncorrected, stress will lead to health problems. In fact, stress is the number 1 ailment from our patients.
Common symptoms of anxiety include feeling nervous, restless or tense due to a sense of impending danger, panic or doom. Additional signs are increased heart rate, rapid breathing (hyperventilation), increased sweating, trembling or feeling weak or tired, and trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than the present worry.
How does chiropractic care help with anxiety?
Physical stress, emotional stress, and nutritional stress create anxiety. These powerful events will cause muscles to tense and your spine to become rigid and misaligned. When your body is left in stress mode, it is unable to rest and heal. Anxiety can last for days to years.
At Begin Within Family Wellness, chiropractic care helps to calm anxiety by addressing the cause. When your spine is in proper alignment your mind and body are able to properly respond to stress.

Dizziness
Dizziness is used to describe a range of sensations, such as feeling faint, woozy, weak or unsteady.
Dizziness starts in three main places: the eyes, the ears, and the top of the neck. The doctors at Begin Within Family Wellness will address problems stemming from the neck.
Common symptoms or signs of dizziness include a false sense of motion or spinning (vertigo), lightheadedness or feeling faint, unsteadiness or a loss of balance, and a feeling of floating, wooziness or heavy-headedness.

How does chiropractic care help with dizziness?
It is not fun when objects around you keep moving, even though you are standing still.
Accidents and injuries restrict your body’s natural movement. Nerves located at the top of your neck, that sense motion and help to create balance and stability, are not able to properly balance. This creates the sensation of being in motion, when not moving.
What can you do for dizziness?
Precise upper cervical care works to restore your body’s natural movement, decrease nerve pressure, and create postural stability. In fact, many patients report feeling more grounded after adjustments.
